"When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God." (Deu 32:8)

The bible prohibits mixing of any form or fashion. You can see this principle at work in Gen 1 already, as God creates everything according to its kind, and according to their kind the animals are saved on Noah's ark (Gen 6 and 7).

"On the very same day Noah and his sons, Shem and Ham and Japheth, and Noah's wife and the three wives of his sons with them entered the ark, they and every beast, according to its kind, and all the livestock according to their kinds, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, according to its kind, and every bird, according to its kind, every winged creature." (Gen 7:13-14)
The principle can be seen again when God commands his chosen people not to mix with other peoples (Lev 20:26), and in as simple a thing as in your clothing that should not be of mixed thread (Deu 22:11). Not being unequally yoked is another example of this principle straight from the case laws (Deu 22:10) that Paul uses to emphasize thatbelievers should not marry unbelievers (2Co 6:14).

And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. (Gen 1:25)
